Official "Where is my car" thread

Okay as most of you know my saga started on October 5, 2002. Well I should have gotten my car back last week and I posted some of the letters in this thread: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=2

Well the official word is that I'm now on engine #3 (yes that's 2 422's that I've gone through ) and now a third/fourth is being built by MTI and another company.

Apparently the second engine had a hairline crack in a brand new block. Chris K. wrote last night and talked about what had happened and that he was going to talk to MTI and another reputable engine builder about getting possibly 2 new blocks built and he would put in the best of the two. SO as it sits I still have no car, no deadline, and no idea whether I'll ever see my car again. So when I guess it will be all said and done I will have had my car in that shop for over 6 months. If anyone needs any more info PM or email me and I'll give you all the details.

My condolences Ben! But, the end product will probably be more than worth the wait! It took me over a year if you remember the crap I went through just for parts no less the install... Let me know if I can do anything for you or if you need a speed fix, come get a ride!

I'll have to take you up on that ride Jim. Your car by far is one of the meanest monsters I have ever seen.

Arrow

I will join you in that notion Ben. I cranked mine over once yesterday from a cold start, BAM POP heard a loud snap, then i let it sit for a minute or two, cranked it again, and it was misfiring as all hell , stumbled, and died. So now it's at the dealer here in College station, who knows when it will be done, or WTF is wrong with it.

PM me with the details. I hope you are taking legal action.

Scott

Sorry to hear about the problems....again. At least you'll know now that a reputable shop will build your motor. Although MTI is pricey, they put out some descent stuff. Good luck and hang in there...

Besides, if you had it back now it would just be sitting in the garage cause of all this rain

MTI and another company are working on 2 engines. They are doing it because Chris said he was tired of getting bad blocks from other engine builders so he was going to just go with MTI. I should have done that in the first place though. Ahh, hindsight is always 20/20.
