new emissions in surrounding D/FW? wtf...

i thought this stuff went into effect may 1st? i just finished up my new motor quickly due to the new testing so i could get the inspection before the first. now someone told me today that they aready started it? wtf, how am i going to pass emissions with a cam that has massive lope? im gonna have to "pass" with the here you go heres an extra $20 i guess.

It's been in effect for about a year now... at least for sorrounding counties

Actually it should not have started in Ellis county yet, May 1st is correct. If anyone is charging for it already tell them to kiss your ***. They cannot do that yet. I bet if they are they are just pocketing the extra money. I was tring to get my Stang finished before this too, but I am not going to make it. Time to register in Henderson county!!!!

sorry it has been in DFW for a while

My T/A went on the tread mill test last AUG in Tarrant county, the moron kid could not keep from spinning the tires on it and stalled it shifting to 2nd, then I then threw their supervisor in the car for the test.

Nope just the counties that actually touch Dallas and Tarrant counties, ie Kaufman, Rockwall, Ellis, and whatever the others are.

If they were doing that it's just the same as trying to charge more than the normal price. When I was in tech school I worked at Wal Mart in the TLE and they were charging $12 for an inspection instead of the state fee of $10. The state almost gave them a HUGE fine and took away their inspection stations because of it.

yeah, i haven't had a sticker since june of '02 b/c of all this...

guess i'll have to shell out $50 + tip to get my car to pass or i'll just register it in lubbock next semester

anyone got a friend at an inspection station?
