As long as you keep the motor tuned, oil changed faithfully, cat(s) are in working order and change/clean the filter then you should never have any worries no matter the mileage.

That's the part I hate. Why are all "standards" NOT. Why is your 98 OBD2 allowed twice the emisions of my 95 OBD1 ?

Why doesn't the whole damn country smog/dyno test? I say all or none. Why is OK to pollute if you live in Iowa (not picking on IA) but not in Ill etc? And how about the turds who live in a county that don't test and drive their POS 1975 Ford F150 into my TOWN stinking up the air on 7 cylinders, every day for work.

OK off my soap box. With all my extra room I need a cam so I can pollute to max allowed by law.

15 mph low speed dyno sniffer
HC 42 (117 was max allowable)
CO .04 (.65 was max)
NOX 496 (879 was max)

25 mph high speed dyno sniffer
HC 34 (114 was max)
CO .02 (.63 was max)
NOX 540 (796 was max)

Not bad for FLP long tubes, its funny, our cars are actually cleaner then a lot of econo cars if just kept in good tune.

Hey...I agree with you. The thing is, most of us don't have to worry about passing/failing. I just say, hey..if you can see black(to much fuel)/blue(oil)/white(anti-freeze) smoke coming out your tail pipe, then you shouldn't be driving the thing on the road w/o fixing it first. But heck..what do I know?
