Need a rear end with 3.42 gears or 3.23
Hi,
The dealer screwed me and just replaced the pinion seal and tightened the pinion so much it fried the pinion bearing. The replaced that and I thought all was well and then the pinion started leaking like crazy and now they say my case is cracked...I am p*ssed.
Now, does anyone know of a good place in the Houston area I can get a complete rear end for my car for a decent price(Under $300-400)?
And does anyone know if it is easy to put a 99 up rear in the car since it has a torsen diff? Is it compatible with my ABS and traction control?
Thanks,
James

all 93-02 rear ends will bolt up with no modifications at all. the brakes are the only difference on the newer ones, unless you put your brakes on the new rear.
but for the ABS and TCS i think you have to get a rear that has those to keep it working.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering how the emergency brakes hook up on the 98 up rear ends if I can keep the newer brakes on there?
I found out I will need a TCS rear end since it uses two sensors on the axles instead of one sensor on the ring gear. Correct me if I am wrong.
anyone have some pictures to post of a tcs rear end and where the sensors are located? My car is still at the dealer waiting a decision.
Thanks,
James
