The car is going to the body shop next month. I am debating painting it another color but dont know what color I would want to do. The car is a black '94 Z28 & will have an OEM SS hood and LS1 SS spoiler, silver ZR1 wheels for now (11's in the rear, considering powdercoating them black), the front and rear bumper covers will be repainted, the engine bay completely redone, fender wells and under car will also be done. Should I leave the car black or go with another color?

I have been thinking about some sort of silver, Le Mans Blue Metallic, SOM, or Navy Blue Metallic.

Let me know what you guys think.

 

I know it's been done, but I think that car looks stellar in Hugger Orange and black wheels. I used to be gainst changing the color of a car, but we did it to my wife's Trans am and it looks great. I don't know the exact name of the color (maybe Nassau blue or somethign like that?) but the C-5 came in an amazing medium metallic blue (1 year only color I think) that would look really good with the silver wheels. It's almost the same blue that it on the new toyota pick ups. If I were doing it I would probably change the color just to be different- maybe a retro theme with hockey stick stripes? Just something off the wall that would make both the old and young crowd take a second look.

Another thing to consider is if there is much body work to be done- black paint doesn't go well with body work.

 

Since you got to be different, and knowing you're gayness, hot pink with zebra stripes interior would be good.





But I still say a really DARK graphite color, with some light silver ghost flames, black spokes and chrome lip. The only thing that would be wrong on that car is you in it!

 

If I was having the color changed on my camaro, I would seriously consider 1991 Corvette steel blue metallic with satin black or carbon accents (maybe Sprewel long hockey stripes) & wheels.

I also think the more modern spiral greys look good too.

Either of those would look good with chrome or brushed accents as well.

Oh, and I'd recommend Thunder Road in Round Rock if you don't have a body shop.

 

I've always liked the Navy Blue Metallic color.

 

I've got a few good pics of an LS1 SS that was painted the Viper Steel Grey. I thought it was stunning. But that's just me. Black is ALWAYS a good choice, just can be a pain in the *** to keep clean and really isn't anything special. I love the Hugger Orange on white interior. I've never seen an SOM LT1, but the LS1 looks awesome with it. Yeah, that's all I got.
