Need LT1 block

Just need a local LT1 block only. Maybe if deal good enough block and heads, but do not need any internals. I am in Flower Mound and not wanting to drive more than an hour or so to get it. Let me know. Thanks.

Virgin block or one that's already been rebuilt?

I guess it would depend on price and what you got. I broke a rod and it damaged the block enough that it is not worth it to pay a machine shop to fix it. So was looking for a bare block std bore or maybe 30 over. But if someone has a built short block with forged internals and I can afford, I would intertain offers.

did you break the rod in the 97? the reason i ask is because i rebuilt one for a friend a couple years back that broke a rod. ive never seen such a big mess in my entire life. the rod caught the bottom of the cylider wall and siezed the motor up. the upper timing gear sheared the dowl pin and cam bolts off the front of the cam bent 13 valves and warped the cam not to mention the golfball size hole in the oil pan. the thing is all the rods had stress marks in them like they where streched. just curious

I ask because I have my old LE1 motor sitting in my garage. It's already been machined and I'm about to put it back together.

Stock Crank - 40
6" Eagle H-Beams - 200
Ross Flat Tops - 450
stock lifters/spider - 45
LE1 cam - 175

Need to add machining and assembly to that to deglaze the cylinders, burn/blast the block, new cam bearings and obviously subtract anything you don't want like cam, lifters etc. As is you can swap your H/C and drop it in. Here are some pics before I took it apart. No one wants the pieces so I'm putting it back together again and trying to sell it whole.

Well it didn't grenade the whole thing, but pretty much everything you described, except I only bent one valve. So yeah everything was trashed, including my cam.

I really only need the block, I have decided to build a forged stroker and am going to buy new parts. If you want to sell the block I would be interested. I have a guy in fort worth who will sell me his, but you are local to me and would save me gas. Gonna pick it up tonight if you are interested. I'd give $100 for the bare block.

Sorry, but I can't take $100 for the block and I've already worked it out to machine it and put everything back together.
