Thumbs up My first camaro

So all my life ive been driving a 2002 2.2l cavalier. I dont think I really knew what power is. Now that summers over (yawn) I bought my first camaro. Its a white 2002 Z/28 Convertible with some custom 35th leather seats. I would nearly floor the cavalier to get on the freeway...now? WTF! Theres so much brute force...why'd I wait so long? Part of it is I'm 19...:\ anyway the car was $17k with 35k miles, I've never been happier. Could do without the 450/mo full coverage insurance payment and 400/mo car payment though. I've driven my uncles 2000something goat, a 1970 cutlass, and a 69 s/c hugger clone, I'd take this car over em all Its all stock so I'll have some fun and ill need some pointers! Forums great by the way, good to meet ya'll. Cant stop looking out the window at it

Be careful with it dude. I'm 22, and we've had the '95 Z28 in the family since new, and even I find myself overdoing it a bit when I haven't driven it lately. My daily driver is a Corolla, so it's slow, and you can put the pedal to the metal without concern. But not the Camaro. Don't take risks. Have some fun, but know when to let off.

Be careful in the rain with the power, know that if the car starts to lose it, let off the gas and don't touch the brakes immediately, and don't mod it until you're comfortable with the car after a year or so. You're going to need to learn not to stomp the gas when you're going around a corner also lol, you can do that in underpowered front wheel drive cars, but not Camaros. You'll end up doing a 360 right into a tree .

Just some friendly advice from someone who doesn't want to see you on channel 8 news with ambulance lights flashing!

Congratulations man! I remember the feeling. I had an old IROC when I turned 16 that really had no power. I got my '95 when I was 19 and it was sooo much better! Like Brangeta said though, be CAREFUL man! Those things have a ton of power and the torque can tear the tires up with ease. Definitely don't want your next post to be about how you overdid it!

Enjoy dude! Have a blast and remember to keep looking on this forum for some of the best tech/mod advice you can find!

Kyle
