Post Moving to SA.

I am moving out to SA and going to school at UTSA in the fall (well I move in on the 23rd). Coming from Houston, we have a pretty big group of Camaro owners down here (Houston F-bodys), I am wondering how the scene is out there.

I heard you guys have some pretty strict street racing penalties. I have been known to pull a few on the street, never been pulled over yet.

I am assuming you guys have a club out there, I see alot of people from SA on the boards.

Unfortunately my car is in the shop right now, and probably wont be out for a month or two. But I am probably going to take it to SA with me when I have the chance (driving the beater right now).

Anyway I will be living on campus (which is on 1604, the northside near Seaworld). I hope to meet some of you guys there since I will be making my home in SA for atleast the next 4 years (well I hope, heh).

Cool

Greetings,we have a loosely knit group of f-body folks here in S.A. Meetings(if you want to call them that) are held the first sat. of the month at 12:30 at the Pigstand Drive-in on Broadway. The 3rd sat. of the month at 7:00 pm at the Pigstand also. There are several places for those who enjoy the occasional stoplight to stoplight thrash. We do have 2 dragstrips close by so it's your choice. Come by when you get into town. We'er always glad to have new folks.

What? I thought our meetings are on the 2nd and 4th sats! Maybe thats why Im the only one there.

Dude, if you live near campus and you live near SeaWorld then, youre going to be at Northwest Vista College. UTSA is near Fiesta Texas. (no Im not an **** retentive bastard.)

Id say a good percentage of the more active SA fbody club members live on the NW side, around UTSA. Hence, impromptu Sonic meets during mid week tend to have a decent turn out. Come on out on an Fbod, beater or bike.

Be careful, UTSA-PD generally have nothing better to do than harrass motorists not perfectly centered between the lines in their designated parking areas. Also, "california stops" or rolling stops, or not stopping for the full 2 seconds really gets their panties in a pinch.

You can be our new token teenager. SilverBird is leaving for ATM.

Thanks for the replies. You are right, Seaworld is furhter down 1604, I live near Fiesta Texas (hey I am new here!).

In any case, I have no idea how long the car will be in shop here in Houston. I will probably stop by in the beater (read: 95 Sunfire). Just trying to get to know people up there.

Is it really true about all the street racing fines and having your car impounded and such? I heard they really cracked down out there. Not so much that I am out hunting for a race all the time, I just don't like being a big target.

In any case, do you guys have a board where I could talk to more SA f-bod owners?

Thumbs up

Welcome to SA! This is basically our board for SA members. Most of us congregate here. Street racing here will get you canned hard if you hang with the wrong group, I advise a little track time. Our SA f-body meets are actually on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, no Dom you're not losing your mind . If you need any info on anything please let me know. We're a pretty well rounded group, although not very organized. We're hoping to change that though.

I am going to be in Houston till Friday then I will be in SA full time till Thanksgiving.

In any case I know no one up there, so good to have some people to talk shop to. My ride is in the shop at the moment, I don't know when she will be done, but I promise I have a F-body. No body laugh if I drive the Sunfire up to meet you guys!

Yes, there have only been 4 the last 2 times. There should be a decent turn out this weekend and maybe we can all head out to the track afterwards.
