midnight madness

Hey everyone, i'm a newbie here but not to message boards, i am an active member at 67-72chevytrucks.net, (for my truck)
anyway, i read in the sunday's paper a few weeks back about rivercity raceway holding a midnight madness the 27th of sep. and was wondering if anyone else might be going to it. I'll be there with my pewter people eater but mainly to watch, the paper said it is 10 bucks per person and lasts from 9pm till 2am.
hope to meets some fellow enthusiasts there.

Hey, welcome to our little hideout!

My brother has a 71-71 Chevy 'Longhorn' truck...at least it used to be a truck, now it's a wasp's nest on wheels...lol. He claims it's sort of rare or something...and wants to sell it, but cannot face the fact he put some $$ into it and wouldn't get it back out.

Anyway, about the raceway thing...it sounds like fun. I have to meet up with the local Impala SS club guys earlier in the day, but depending on how late it gets maybe I can go out there Sat night.

Then again, all the ricers come out on Sat nights...not sure if I want to see that again!

Hey gun4hire,
You rbrother does indeed have a rare truck, if he wants to know everything about that truck send him to the message board i'm at, those guru's will gladly inform him about what he has on his hands, and he might not even want to sell it, but then again it is a rare truck, and if rust isn't really an issue, he can get a good chunk of change for it.
But as far as saturday, i am hearing rumors about the rainy weather we might have during the weekend, and rivercity is a drive from my house so if it rains earlier that day, i probably will not make it.

I'm pretty sure my bro knows about that website. He's on the internet quite a bit (runs some web pages, etc)... He really doesn't want to sell it, but doesn't have the motivation to fix it. I was going to buy it off him just because I hate to see a classic go to waste, but he's never come back with a definite sell offer.

I probably wont go Sat night even if it doesn't rain. The humidity alone will kill ETs.. I was hoping to run with the new lid and tires...maybe in a couple weeks.

I'm kinda new to the SA racing scene as well, when is a good time to go out to the track if you want to avoid the ricers? or rather, the ricer infestation that causes me to wait in the staging lanes for over 20 minutes. bah!

I have also heard about a place near SW military where all the fast domestics go to race. does anyone know what it is called or where it is?

Welcome the board Marco.

I think Wednesday nights are supposed to be better, but there will still be ricers I suspect. It's not as 'high profile' as racing on Sat night, so it's less busy overall...based on the last couple of times I've been out there.

As far as street racing, why risk it. Cops are busting people left and right and in my opinion, it's not worth it. Besides, too many dumba$$es go out there and make fools of themselves...too much drama for me.
