I’ve got the VIN, title #, license plate # (unless it’s been changed in the last year and half), full Carfax report (thanks Jazsun) and every other bit of info about the car.

I just want to figure out who owns it now and maybe buy it back.

It has sentimental value to me as my first car and isn’t worth more than 2 grand.

I know from the carfax it’s still likely in Fort Worth (she just failed a emissions test there a few months ago


Any ideas how I can track the new owner down?

 

You could always do a lookup online using the plates. I did this one time when we caught someone trying to steal stuff from my dad's car.

I just happened to know someone that had one of the online accounts to find information using their plates. I happened to get EVERYTHING I could have wanted to know about that car and the owner! Kind of scary that this is possible. If the plates have changed, I don't know what to tell you.

Well where can I go to do this....I doubt the plates have changed....

 

I wish I could tell you. The person I knew was a co-worker back in Dallas at the time. Maybe someone will chime in here? Or maybe try the lounge?

 

You need to know someone in law inforcement, well. Though a bribe in the form of a dozen donuts has been known to work.
