Alright here's the story, I have a punk kid that I used to go to school with, telling everyone he can beat me and already has. I have never raced him before because everytime I try he wont do it for some reason or another. Well now hes getting even more cocky saying he can beat any LT1 on the street and especially any car that belongs to my club. He is also saying he has 320hp. Now, I admit he has beat one of my buddies that drives a basically stock A4 2001 WS6. I have it on video, but even on video you can see that he only beat him cause my buddy was sideways all the way through first and second, and he only beat him by a car. Most of my club members have tried to race him, and have told him that since he can supposedly beat me, he should be able to beat them since I am faster than them, but yet he will not race them either. So, I figured I will get him to the track so everyone can see him beat me or so he says. If any other LT1's or anyother car for that matter wants in on shutting this fool up, let me know. I will send you a PM with the date and which track it will happen at(most likely Kennedale or Ennis). If you are wondering what my mods are, most of them are in the sig. Anybody else's input on this matter is more than welcomed.

I was wondering if you knew his mods? And what year his car is. Because my buddy has a 3.8 camaro when he raced the gst he had only an intake and the gst was like a 2000 something. It had a bov and cat-back exhaust. And we took him from a roll by like 3 cars or so. We pulled over and talked to him and he thought we were in a z28 and he was a little embaressed to get beat that bad by a v6 with intake.

 

You sure it was a 2000?
Just asking because didn't they change the Eclipse in 2000 to the N/A V6s, and the newest Body Style?

You need to watch out more so for the 1st generation and 2nd generation DSMs, I have seen some that were REALLY fast, and totally sleepers. There wasa local guy going high 11s with a 98ish GSX that looked stock, besides a boost guage, and exhaust temp guage, and tint. Just watch out for some of them, because they can really surprise ya!

 

It must be well-modified considering we're talking about a FWD car that wants to run from a stop, *and* it's beaten an LS1 already. If it can overcome having no traction though 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd and still win, it's got some power. Even drag radials aren't really of much benefit - better, but not great.

Sounds like a "13.0 @ 115" kind of car.

 

Is it a red 2nd gen driven by a Asian guy? If so he runs 7.8's at 90.ish

From a stop, you'll kill him, but if your on a role, watch out, its possible, my friend has a 00 TA w/ a 100 shot, and got smoked buy a GST on the highway. Im not saying that you'll lose, but im sayin its possible. Hope ya win.

 

Well, this guy is about 16-17 and its a green, I would say about 96-98, with rims. I have talked to his brother about this, and he said his brother has only ran high 13's and is known for running his mouth when he shouldn't. I know he has Greddy exhaust, CAI, and a BOV, but now he is claiming he has upgraded his turbo and all this other BS. I seriously doubt it, knowing his brother and all, I would of heard about it from his brother also. My buddy tried racing him just the other night(I even offered to put $100 on it), but he made up excuses saying he couldnt that night, I think the main excuse is that he knows my buddy can run 12's and didnt want to get beat. I have also heard of some other situations where he has said he can beat a certain kind of car and when someone with that car tries to challenge him, he again makes up an excuse. So, I figured if I took it to the track he cant really make up any excuses there. The reason I figured I would see if any of you guys wanted in on it, is because of the main reason he says Domestics are over rated. So anyone want in on it?

 

Now, dont any important guys out there, take this the wrong way. I am not saying this guy needs to be put in his place cause he is an import. Believe me, I have a buddy that has beat me in his Civic, mainly cause this Civic runs low 12's to high 11's, any import that is that fast gets all the credit in the world from me. I am only saying he needs to be put in his place because he run's high 13's(or so his brother says) and is claiming he can whip my car and any other car in my club or out. Which, in case you are wondering, the fastest cars in the club(besides me) are a Chevelle, and a 5.0. The Chevelle has ran a healthy 7.8 in the 1/8 mile, and the 5.0 has hit high 12's on street tires. Now, I know these arent the best times, but I say they are pretty respectable. So, I figured him sayin he can beat those cars, is pretty much saying most domestics. Plus the fact he has said that he can beat most domestics and that its pathetic on our part.

 

I have raced a similar car. The guy wanted to go from a 40 mph roll, which was great for me since I have no traction in 1st anyways. I beat him by 3 car lengths. After the race he said something about not having his wastgate shimmed for maximum boost.
I didn't know what he was talking about?

3 days later we raced again, this time I turned on my bottle just incase he had actually gone and done something viable.

Naturally, I crushed him again.

Sounds like a guy I knew back at the UT Austin sports car club... most of the members had domestic cars (f-bodies, mustangs), but there were a few imports.

In comes a 1st gen DSM owner (Randy Gonzales)... the fact that we were getting another import member was nice [as there weren't many in the club], but this guy talked all kinds of smack from the get-go! It wasn't your friendly car club smack talk, but stuff like 'yea, I spent all summer taking money from dumb f-body owners in Houston.'

He wouldn't tell anyone what he ran or what he had done, but we got fed up pretty quick - as luck would have it, the club organized a track day a few weeks later, and I got to settle the score with the punk We ran twice - he did a 13.1 @105 and then a 14.0 against me , and went home with his tail between his legs... Even on his 'good' run, I was over a second quicker and 15mph faster. He didn't show up to the car club after that

Anyway, I met him at the track a few years later... he was there with several friends and a white DSM. He walked up to me in the staging lanes and started talking smack (I was shocked, as I thought he learned his lesson in our last encounter), and asked me if I wanted to run his friends DSM for $200. I immediately said 'no problem, lets go'... he just turned around and walked away mumbling that they still had to do tuning... what a way to b*tch out.

The moral of the story? A lot of the biggest talkers can't back their **** up... call them on their smack talk, and they'll b*tch out if they know they're full of it. Your 16 year old friend with the DSM sounds a lot like Randy...

 

i let a buddy of mine drive my 99 A4 t/a and he beat an eclipse 96 - 98 with a GReddy turbo by about 2 car lengths. My t/a had loudmouth and a reprogrammed tranny...so i suppose it's all in the driver? Typical ricer though..running his mouth yet doesn't back it up...

 

I'll run him next time I'm in town.
