Re: got a ticket...couple questions

Yeah, $450. I told you, he was a TOTAL POS.

I have had MANY tickets and the one I paid off when I was 16 was the only one ever on my record. I've had: 15 over, 26 over, 30 over racing (1st wk I went on prob. for the 26 over! , never got caught! ), 9 over, 10 over, and 14 over (dismissed).

I've gotten off of (what I can remember): 7, 11, 10, 16, and a couple of others. I've also gotten 2 no front plate tickets, and pulled over for 10 over and my headlights weren't on (warning for both, don't know why the lights weren't on).

I'm horrible

Oh, this is what I was looking at earlier from cstx.gov

When requesting driving safety class, you must pay the administrative fee of $10.00 plus the state fees of $98.00 ($128 for violations that occurred in a school zone) before your case can be officially set up for the driving safety option for dismissal. (Due to legislation updates, state fees are subject to change.)

Re: got a ticket...couple questions

if you take it from defensivedriving.com make sure you pay the extra $10 for the quick shipping

i got stopped for going 23 over and it took them 3 months to ship it to me so i had to pay the ticket plus deferred adjudication plus a fee for not going through with the dd class plus the class (the dicks would not refund the $$$$$ for the class)

i paid $340 to the city and $40 to the *** holes at defensivedriving.com and i was on probation for 3 months but atleast i was able to keep it off my record

If you pay the ticket out right, you will pay more for your insurance. Definetly take the defensive driving. Just go in before your court date. You dont have to see the judge. At that time, they will say what the court costs you need to pay and then you have like 30 days to take the course (could be 60 days). Shop around for the courses. Some local courses can be pretty cheap and entertaining.

You can deferred adju... but I have never done it this way.

Just my $0.02. Good luck with this.

I had JUST gotten one when I got my 30 over, but I was still new to the thing. After that one there was a 3 or so year lull but then it broke and I didn't get another one. The new one I wanted was 60 more bucks. Within a week of not buying a new one I got my 9 over and it cost almost double what it would have cost to just get the detector! And I guarantee I wouldn't have gotten the tckt if I had it.

Wouldn't it still count as long as you could prove that you actually completed the class in time? If you just took the certificate up there it SHOULD state the date you completed it.

Yeah, but on the thing I read, it says you "have to present to the court...by the 90th day..."

But if it's the company's fault for not getting it to you a lot of times the judge will approve it. I've done it once (in CS). They took it late and gave it to the judge. They said if he didn't approve it they'd call me. It's been over 6 months now.

the judge will alot of times give you an extension BUT that is only if you call before hand. I have done it once before.

Re: got a ticket...couple questions

sounds like the best way out.

just fyi...I took DD at the Golden Corral down on University on a Saturday morning. I think it was $35 and included food pretty much the whole time. AND you get it done all at once, instead of possibly delaying finishing the online one.
