getting a new GTO (maybe)
getting a new GTO (maybe)
So the wife's 6 cylinder stang is on it's way out to make room for another Pontiac. I want to lease a new GTO, has anyone had any luck locally here in Texas? I have heard of insane #'s on these cars but haven't seen them yet. So far i am at $4000 down, 300 month for a 48 month lease. Does anyone here work at a Pontiac Dealer? The smartbuy calculator on pontiac.com says the car should be about 270/month. At 2XX a month, it's a fine ride. Anything over that I'll just drive the Firehawk and go buy the wife a mazda 6 for 200/month- more reliable, more room....just not as fun.
Suggestions? Advice?

Mazda 6.... If you were going there, I'd go to something like a RX-8. Just remember that if you do, you are supporting Ford as well (if that maters to you at all). Why not get a Grand Prix GTP. That is if and it looks like you are a BIG TIME Pontiac man. I hear the new ones are no sloutches.
Lawrence Marshall Pontiac off 610 over by the dome had 4 of them, and was offering $ 7500.00 off sticker on a buy.
These were 6 speeds, which is what I would want.
I'd be jumping all over this if I weren't hankering for a house, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on my car 18 months or so away whereas a new one would be for 5 years.
Arrrrggggghhh !
A guy named Frank Mooneyham was who answered my inquiry - his e-mail

Good Luck - if you get one, i'm jealous !

Re: getting a new GTO (maybe)
I know the feeling, we just bought a house in Katy, I just really want a new GTO and getting the wife a new car is the fastest/easiest way to do it. Sticker on the car is 33,495 and their willing to sell it fpr 31,200 less incentives, which is 27,700- $5795 off sticker. If I could get it down another grand I'd buy it in a sec. If you haven't driven one of these....don't you will have to finda way to buy it! This car drove better than any GM car I've ever driven.
If your looking for a first house, we got a great deal in Katy/West Houston, cost nothing to get into and it's less than my apartment was. Plus, the garage is detached, so it's more like a shop. And no one has complained aboutthe burnouts.....yet.
