Front brake rotor install

Hi y'all, I'm about to put new front brake rotors on my car ('02 SS) and was wondering if anyone who has done it has any tips to make things go easier? Should I buy new studs? any wierd tools required?

No weird tools required, and no need to replace the studs.

Start by putting the car on jack stands and removing the wheels. You will need a 12mm and a 16mm open end wrench. Use the 16 to hold the flats behind the caliper flange, and the 12 to take the caliper bolts out, both top and bottom. Hang the caliper from the spring using a piece of bent clothes hanger. The pads simply fall off. Be sure to grab both spring clips that sit where the pads ride. Then remove the two bolts holding the bracket that is around the caliper off. They are either 17mm or 18mm. Lift the bracket off. If the rotors have never been off, you will have to pry the clip around a stud off. Don't worry about replacing it. The rotor should simply come off at this point. Reverse the replace. I can replace both in under an hour.

Yeah, that little write-up is pretty good. Only other issue I had was one of the sliding metal 'pins' (not sure of the tech term) was rusted in there...had to knock it out and clean it up...then put a little pretty silver spray on there after cleaning them a bit so they look nice.

If you need help (since you are in SA), you can call me on my cell 274-0041 and I can either talk you through it or come by if you are close (NW side).

Remember to put both wheel bearings back in and replace the inner wheel seal, its VERY important.
