event at Temple academy Dragway... tentative date - May 17

We can join in on the Texas ford shootout on Sat May 17. We won't have to pay anything other than standard entry and tech fees. She will setup our own class and we can run among ourselves (no payout).

Requirements will include helmet and long pants. She also effectively said that cars that go faster than the rules allow will not be handed their A*.. at least not on the first pass...

I really don't have to know in advance.. but,, i would like to give her an idea that its a go for at least 5 to 8 cars. She said that getting 4 to 5 runs each should be n/p

Gates open at 2 p.m.

Give it some thought..

If there are a bunch of u ^b-cs folks who want to attend please PM me...

The Shootout !!

I'll be there , dressed to kill !!!! Fees are gona be the norm , as the rules , so everybody bring their cam-corders !!!! There's a 68 red small block street car thats gonna be there that wants part of the action too !!! He runs low 11's on the motor , and he said that he's going to show Stevan some tailights there !!! ( His car runs best on the track where he can hook up good !! Stevan has seen the car one time at Hastings , but the guy said that he won't run on the street , only on the track !! I hope that we have a good turnout !!!! Ed

It looks like we will just about have the place to ourselves.

?

check back back at a later date bc it was a club going to do it but they arent going to do it anymore. So im not for sure what i will have that day yet.

Thanks

Also,, like I said in the subject,, I bet that there will be at least 1 low 11sec car there on the motor, and Im not talking about the red first gen. And if the shot is put on,, there might be a dark horse (not a stang) showup from nowhere.

Ed you have ALWAYS said your Z is a street car and your car will not perform at a track...why all the sudden urge to run at one? You always said to do it on the street? No flame intended, just curious?

Rick , my car is NOT track legal !! If we rent the track for ourselves or go as a group , I stand a better chance at running more than one time , also TAD isn't very strict about their rules !! If I go to all the trouble of going to a track , I'd like to make more than one pass before getting kicked off !! And I'm ready for some timeslips to post !! Ed

It's gonna be lotsa fun , we're gonna BBQ , and have some beer , if I only get three good runs , I'll be happy !! One on the motor , one one the 100 shot , and one ***** to the walls !!!! I just want to get a rearend girdle on there and I'll be ready !! I'll race Stevan for some cash , but the side bets that I'll make my money on will make up if I happen to lose !! My money's on Tony and the red 68 thats gonna be there !! The red 68 is fully street legal , AND does drive it on the street , AND I know what he runs !!! I'm hoping for a low ten on all three stages , and if I hook just right , a nine just might be possible !!! And for a fully loaded daily driver , That would be bad *** !!!!! You were there when I ran stevan , so you tell me ??? The motor is right , the tranny is right , and I've got all three stages working to their full potential !! And you know that I'll do some weight reduction !!! But a Nine would be the Cars *** !!!! Ed

It doesn't look like Tony is gonna make to this one. He had some more motor issues. Looks like he blew a head gasket making some data log runs and blew a chunk out of one of his heads .

He is gonna try and get it running again pretty soon. So hopefully we'll see some good luck and great times out of Tony's car shortly.

Stevan , the track is almost to Temple , about an hour or a little more , moderate track conditions , fair bite , and there's gonna be about twenty of us locals. There was a 68 Camaro at the car club one night that said he won't race on the street , it's fully street legal , and he wants to run you. Tony might have his car ready by the the time we go. Good run at San Antonio , Hopefully I can do better !! There's gonna be alot of money there , so be prepared !! Ed
