Emissions testing question??
Emissions testing question??
Does anyone know if in Texas you are required to get your car inspected in the county where it is registered? I need a new cat and I was wondering if I can just go to another county that doesn't require emissions and get it inspected??
Also, does anyone happen to know of any cats that are easy install (bolt-on), but aren't as expensive as the 350 dollar factory one??
Thanks!
Em

Re: Emissions testing question??
yeah, you do have to get it inspected in your own county, otherwise people would just do what you want to do.
do a search on cats, the aftermarket ones are alot cheaper. i think i had a catco on mine, and it was about $70.

I know I can find a lot that are cheaper BUT I am looking for one that is direct fit, cuz I don't have a welder or anything with which to weld one on if it doesn't fit exactly. Did the aftermarket one you got have to be modified to fit, or was it just bolt-on??

Thanks, I can definitely take it somewhere and get it done if it's only going to be like 20 bucks! I was thinking it was going to be super expensive, and right now money's kinda sparse...
