Calling all College Station and Houston area F bodies! March 27th, HMP

March 27th, me and Rick (Phat T/A), are trying to plan a raceday at HMP, a brand new 1/8 mile track in Houston! I haven't been there yet, but Rick has, and he says it's awesome. We're going to try to bring a good amount of people from here in College Station, and I just wanted to send an invite to other F body owners in the area that want to take it to the track w/ some good street races! You can look for my car, it is a white LT1 Trans Am with 17 inch Silver Borbet wheels on it. Very distinct looking rims, so just come by and say what up and we can have a good day of racing!

Here's a link to my car that you can be looking for:

See you there!

Darrell

I live about 15 mins from the new track, but my tranny went out a couple of weeks ago so haven't had a chance to head out there.

If I get my car back in time I will definately be checkin it out.

I also got a couple of friends with f-bodies and see if their down for it.

That's too bad, hopefully you can get your tranny fixed. Tell your friends like you said, the more the merrier.

Hey that sounds cool, my best friend lives in College Station, so maybe I can talk him into me and him rollin' out there.

Here's a short vid of his car that I made, mine is in there (just sitting) too.

I don't recognize those cars, but I do recognize those apts in the background, that's about 3 mins from where I live. How's that 3rd gen run? A good friend of mine, Doug (FacelessZ on here) goes to Baylor, he drives a 95 Forest green Z28 w/ Torq thrust IIs, and full slew of bolt ons, LTs, RRs, etc. He's going.

Directions to track:
http://www.houstonspeedway.com/ddirect.htm

Admission is $20 to race, $10 to watch.
Gates open at 12 noon, race till whenever. We'll probably Aim to be there by 12ish.

Helmets are required if your car is 8.6 sec or faster.

Sounds good, my friend with the third gen has never had his car at the track either. I'm waitin' to see some numbers from that thing myself. I'm guessing from what he's got in it, probably low 13's or maybe even high 12's. But yeah he lives on Holleman St. behind the HEB and I have a cousin that lives in the ghetto off of Villa Maria St. I should be moving up there in about a year or so to go to Blinn. Is your buddy FacelessZ on here? If so he is on a local board that I'm on.

Yeah facelessz is on here, under that name.

low 13s, high 12s is pretty dang good for a 3rd gen, don't see many 12 sec third gens around. I'll have to keep an eye out for him on the street, what does he have done to it?

It's got a 358ci sbc, well built TH350 tranny w/ 3,200 stall (by Goebel Transmissions) long tubes, borla xr-1 muffler, and a bunch of suspension mods (i.e spohn torque arm, sfc's, lower control arms.....ect). He just needs to get that ugly thing painted now.

That's cool.

If you go, you're going to have to bring your video camera, so we can have some video of the day to post here.

Maybe post some good races and stuff.

I will be there

I went last week on a test and tune day and the track prep was outstanding...very nice track, very clean and since not alot of people have heard of it yet there was almost no wait time inbetween runs!

Yeah I talked to him earlier , he said the pedals are in. We'll have to show him how to drive, since the tranny won't even be in there a week when he 1st takes it to a track.

Yeah, count me in. I'm installing a secret weapon tomorrow...should add a little fun. hmm...150 what?

Heres that dyno. The first two runs were with the a/c on... The n2o run was without the a/c and you can see how much more torque and hp I had. Not sure if it makes a big difference up top, but I lost over 20ft-lbs at 3400rpm.
