I moved to Austin about 2 1/2 years ago and have no desire to ever move back to the "Golden Triangle". It has to be one of the worst places on earth. Kind of a smaller, more redneck version of Houston. Pollution, bugs and humidity galore. Then there are the towns.... like Vidor... that's a whole new subject....
NO THANKS!

Not the most exciting clump of cities but the Orange car show once-a-month was kinda cool. The new entertainment center off I-10 just west of Beaumont is supposed to pull some cash into the local economy. Nightlife sucks, just the usual clubs mainly country oriented such as "Cactus Canyon" and "The Handlebar". The Parkdale mall and Wal-mart area is really filling up with new businesses. I saw a Barnes and noble last time I went down Dowlen. I really liked the dorm life, all those 2AM blasts down MLK Parkway to Jack in the Box.
What specifically did you want to know about the area?

I know the area, i lived there till 5 years ago.. I'm going to visit some friends and just wanted to see if there was anyone from here down there so i'm just not totally bored for 4 days at my parents (well, im not staying with them thank god). I know the jack in the box on MLK very well.. I remember when that wasnt called MLK and I remember when there was a Pig Stand there.. heh.. I lived ~3 blocks away from Lamar by Alice Keith Park.. Man that area turned into a ghetto fast..
