Back in Dallas, looking for LT1 experienced engine builders

So I am back in Dallas (kind of) for a few months and was wondering where you guys are using for engine work near dallas on LT1s.

I am looking to replace some pistons and bearings and go turbo on the LT1 this year. Who would you guys use to install/tune something like that?

John Day at Day Machine Shop just took care of my LT. He did a great job on everything, especially the line bore and hone of new splayed caps which apparently is very difficult to do (another reputable shop in town trashed a set of caps and my first block attempting it, not to mention the 6 weeks it took them to F...' it up). He is in Richardson, just off 75. He also has a new CNC machine for any head work, etc. His number is 972-235-7405....super nice people too.

Good luck!

I have heard good and bad from him. I just finished a car in my shop that had 3 motor built by him before one would last more then a few days.

You looking for a full service shop or just someone to rebuild the motor?

I assembled my own motor. He did the machine work only. I can tell you not to go to Metroplex Machine though.... that cost me a block and a few hundred bucks.
