Thumbs up B/CS peeps!!

Anyone up to going to HRP Sunday?? I got my new tranny working good now and I am going down there Sunday to get
a base-line time! I need an idea of were to start programming.
The gates open at 4:00 pm and close I think at 11:00. I will be driving from Austin so I can meet up with some of you on the way down. Weather is gonna be GOOD!! Should be fun!! Let me know!

Tony,

I cant make it out to the track sunday...got too much stuff to do this weekend...Weather should be GREAT!! Give me a call when you get into town and let me know how it goes! Ed...as Tony said...NO excuses!!....get to a real 1/4 track and get some times. If nothing else...with an accurate MPH..you can gauge where your car would stand.

we should check into temple academy dragway

its the right length for many cars and it does not have all the tech issues that ennis or HRP do.

http://www.templeacademy.com/

The track used to be available for rent.. I sent them a message to ask if thats still the case.

I've been going to TAD for the last 7 years and it is not nearly the track that HRP is. It is a good track to just go out and practice your driving and shift points, etc... But if you want serious times go to HRP.

your right..its no HRB or INDY

and maybe not what Tony was intending. My comments were more general to address all the BS that gets thrown around with these indeterminate street races and NAS 1/8 mile issues.

It also provides an elegant solution to those who can't travel 140+ miles or meet specific tech issues.

in otherwords...the only track that ED could "legally" run a 1/4 in would be TAD...

I've ran there, it's ok...not too bad...alot of damn imports though on the weekends

well.. as much as I hate to admit it.. im about in the same boat

...but not for long.. the next major step for me is a r-bar (probably about the time as the 200+ shot).

My car is really set for a 1/4 though.. and I could not get any kind of decient launch on anything but concrete.

If we can rent the place we will just lock the gates.. no rice.

edit
techically, most everyone would need aftermarket restraints..but not much else for tech at TAD

All cars must have seat belts in good working order. Any vehicle running 11.99 or quicker must have a SFI certified 3" driver restraint.

TAD isn't a bad track...no HRP but not too bad...the only ****ty thing about it are the imports on weekends dragging water all over it...

anyhow, it's probably one of the only 1/4 tracks Ed could "legally" do a full run on...

Cool

Two small problems , the major one is that I have the engine out right now due to a valve problem. The second one being , that as Rick said , I have a daily driver "Street" car !! There's no way that I could pass tech inspection , I would get
"ONE" pass after spending alot of time and money to travel all that distance only to get booted off the track !! I'm still in the process of getting "SOME" suspention work done on the car !! Right now its all motor !! Just before I pulled the motor , I finally figured out the tranny problem , I'm not trying to make excuses , just pointing out the raw facts , it's a FAR cry from being "TRACK" legal !! I'd like to make a couple of passes to dial the car in instead of only making "ONE" pass !! Does HRP have "Grudge" matches at the end of the night ?? It's "Run what Ya brung" with no rules !! I could make a few passes at the end of the night. But still , I won't be ready until spring , I have to break in the new combo ( Yup I'm going with some " New" parts ) and after I get used to the new combo , I have some sub-frame connectors and some traction bars to stiffen up the body. As for a roll cage , I don't think thats gonna happen , I've got a 68 Camaro that gonna be a weekend warrior !! ( Big Block with 525 c.i. ) That should run nines or better !! But until then , I'm happy with my daily driver !! Ya'll give me time , and I'll get there !! I hate to disappoint Ya'll , but I do things in my own way , and I'm in no hurry !! I'll race "ANYBODY" on the street cuz thats my gig !! So for now ,, thats the way it stands !! See ya'll on the street !! Ed
