Hey, My name is Stu. I am a moderator on the Texasfbody.org car club. As you have probably already heard, there is a new toll road system being set up in Austin. Comming October 22, 2006 there will be a grand opening for the toll roads. They are having a big party with something like 3000+ people in attendance.

I am trying to gather people who are against said toll roads to show up in protest. We dont need foreign owned toll roads in our city!

If you would like to show your protest and show them that car enthusiasts are against this, please let me know. I am trying to get together with Austin Area Stangs, SCCA, Spokes, Austin 3rd Gen, Lake Area Rods and Classics and any other car club that wants to participate.

What kind of protest?

 

Depends on what people want. This is in the early stages. If people want banners or stickers on cars, then we can do that. If people want signs, then we can do that. I am open to ideas... throw out an idea and it will be considered.

As long as we have people show up and show their disproval for the toll roads, then its a success.

 

STU,since I probably will never use the toll road I seem not to care about a protest that will do no good at all. The only plus is that maybe traffic on I-35 will lesson.So I will respectfully decline to protest.

 

Not sure what you are protesting and hoping to accomplish. Sounds as though the toll road is already approved and built.

If you feel strongly about zero toll roads, the time to voice an opinion is before millions of dollars have been approved by voters.

Finally, I favor a pay as you use toll road for a specific area as opposed to using my TXDOT tax dollars.

Vote Kinky for Gov and maybe some of his gambling bucks can be earmarked for your private roadway.
