All Right ! I get my car back tomorrow !
Been almost 2 weeks w/o it !
I hope that everything looks better than it did before the wreck - I'll find out tomorrow.
On the plus side, I have 2 new tires & wheels now on the passenger side .
Now, if this is the last accident that I have for 10 years , that will be too soon !

Yes, the car was "ready" , but not to my liking.
The rear bumper cover had a minor tear up by the rear right taillight, a few spider cracks in the paint a little bit ahead of that - minor stuff.
The biggie was - bogus, reconditioned wheels !!
Now, granted, this guy was trying to work w/ me ala the decuctible, but still -
Non GM wheels - w/ crappy paint ?
I don't think so, Tim !!
I'll fork over the full deductible - if I have to - to get the wheels correct.
I hate dealing w/ body shops as I rarely do it, and thus do not know who to go to. Couple that w/ the fact that I was hosed - the car could not move under it's own power w/ the front suspension wigged - it's not like it could be moved around to anywhere other than on a hook.
*Sigh*
Maybe by next Tuesday, which means that I'll be hard pressed to get it prior to Saturday.
Remind me not to do this again anytime soon, huh ?

Two rules about body work:
1) pay full price
2) don't rush 'em
This gives you full bitchin rights when it gets out!!
I saw mine on Friday, looked really good, just a few adjustments to be made to the fascia, but in their defense they weren't done.
I feel ya on the wheels, they said they couldn't find one of mine so they had to have it fixed. been at the chrome shop for a week and a half....

Frankly, I felt really lucky given the day (Sunday) and the time ( 7:45 P.M.) to have been able to get it dropped off actually inside the dealer's lot.
Otherwise, it would have sat out by the gates, for anybody to pick pieces off as need be.
How bad was your damage ?
I wound up w/ paint touch ups on the front fender & bumper , a "new" ( I'll bet reconditioned
) rear bumper - although, if it looks O.K. when done, so be it , the entire rear quarter panel being repainted, 2 new tires - already mentioned the wheels - and a new outer tie rod & steering knuckle on the passenger side.
Still have not driven it yet - I will consider that to be the proof of the pudding.
I wish these cars (w/ the 17" tires) did not road walk so much - you'd think a steering stabilizer would have been installed by GM to help that .
From what I hear, the Vette's are worse about it !
Best of luck to you , your car, and your wheel !

I'll get involved w/ the insurance company as well - if that is what it takes.
Like I said, I hate dealing w/ body work - kinda like trying to find an honest, fair priced mechanic.
What a bee-yotch !!

My insurance co paid to have the entire drivers side, hood, rear bumper and pass side quarter refinished and one wheel. Both quarters were bashed in and the drivers door jamb was all F'd up- about a 1" gap between the mirror and the A pillar. The fender was just scuffed up. Oh, and the fascia got pushed down a little and the brackets for the drivers light broke... I picked up the tab to have the rest of the car painted. they quoted me 700, which is about what I expected for a decent job. I love the car and plan on having it for a long time so i didn't see any reason not to. Lifetime warranty too so i don't have to worry about fading or checking.
I just got the new Firehawk decals so now I'm just waiting for the wheel so the can get it aligned. They need to hurry, this Malibu rental just isn't cuttin it. At least the car will feel fast when I get it back!
