95 a4 vZ 'vert oil press problems...

This is for a friend at work, I had no idea so maybe some of ya'll will. He has a 95 LT-1 A-4 Z Convertable that was driving fine, then lost all the oil pressure and started shifting all F'd up at the same time. Anyone have any ideas? Never heard of those two going together.

If not, anyone know of a LT-1/A-4 set up for sale?

Question Me neither !

Oil pressure - worn bearings, loose oil filter , low oil level , blah blah balh .

On the tranny side, when the tranny in my SS went out - taken out by a faulty stall converter after 3 years of ownership - D'OH ! it made a ticking noise that increased w/ engine RPM's , and started slipping on the 2 - 3 upshift under WOT - no other time.

Weird.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that links the engine & tranny is the radiator - could water ( coolant ) have gotten into the radiator from a bad head gasket, etc, , and at the same time contaminated the tranny thru a cooler leak ?

Yeah - it's a stretch.

I'm lost on this one too, I finally told him i thoght he just had horrible luck and that he should just find a new drivetrain for the car. I just don't see how they could be linked, unless when the tranny went, the motor revved really fast a little too high causing it to spina bearing.
