Will be removed from car in about 2 weeks.

it has been built for a while.

It is out of Clints car and he ran 9.80's with it. He is stepping up to a solid roller and better heads so he is going with a 9" while upgrading other suspension parts.

I got a pretty good deal on the complete rear end and it just needs my brakes.

The people that used to "convert" these 8.8's would do them fairly cheep at one time but it seems like $800-1000 is what they charge for a bare housing to fit these cars now. Add some axles, gears, posi, etc and you are real close to 9" $$$ so unless you have the knowledge and welding skills to do one yourself, the 8.8 is really a "dead player".

Even with the knowledge and welding skills, it will take some time to build and time is $$$ so there again, no reason to 'build" an 8.8.

I am only running it since I got a good deal on it and it is a proven 9 second rear end that should live forever in my mid 10 second (on spray) car.

Thanks for the info. The reason I would like to find a good one is that the 8.8 is much lighter than a 9" or 12-bolt, and road racing diffs are available for the 8.8.
