hey my name is doug sites and i am going to be moving out that way in a month just wondering if there are any f-bodies out that way as well as speed shops dyno's etc.

I'm in Dixon. Just East of Sterling. There's not a lot of F-bodies out this way. I don't know of any organized groups at all. We travel around the area to cruises & shows.

There is a speed shop in Sterling (C&J Speed) but I can't justify paying their prices when I know I can get it for a lot less elsewhere. There is a great store in Moline, IL. (Winner's Circle) About 45 min. away. Knowledgable people and good prices. The closest dyno that I'm aware of is in Port Byron, IL. Just North of I-80 on Rt.84 along the Mississippi River. Just a little ways South of Cordova, Il. That is where you will find

Hey i am about 2 hours south from there. I was just in Sterling today picking up a LS1 rear end.

 

....and we have reservations in your city for the first weekend in August. Friday night cruise, Fred Gibb show the next day, and back to Macomb for Saturday night ???

 

I live maybe an hour/hour and a half from Sterling. One of my manager's is from Dixon though. As for clubs in Illinois, check out www.mfba.org or www.fbodyowners.com F-body owners generally has monthly gatherings at Hooters in various places.

I have to ask what brings you to the great town of Sterling lol. Speed shops and dynos have pretty much been summed up in the previous posts. There are a few V8 fbodies in Sterling. Of those 3 that I can think of are avid racers. I drive a '94 TA with a 389 stroker, Blown Z(Ken) on the board has a '94 supercharged Z-28 and Anthonycds(Anthony) has a '02 Z-28. I'm sure the other guys will chime in soon on this thread. Feel free to stop into DeSantos Day Spa when you get into town as that is Blown Z business and where most of us hang out. Ask for Ken or I. Also check out our club mfba.org if you haven't already we are all active on the forums on there using the same names. Hopefully we have another f-body to join us beating up on the imports this summer

I'm in Joliet... about 100 miles due East of Sterling. The car is winterized... can't wait until Spring.

 

Those are all great car shows and cruise's.. Fred Gibb show is the best !!

Wish i could be there for them this year, but i am moving to AZ next week.. I am going miss them...
