This is just a reminder that no racing will take place on Tuesday, May 1st, or Wednesday, May 2nd, at Gateway International Raceway due to track preparation and entry parking accomodations for the 11th annual NHRA O'Reilly Midwest Nationals. It happens every year but many people still forget that NHRA does not allow permit events at a host track within the week of a National Event.

Immediately after the completion of the AHDRA Gypsy Redezvous Nationals on Sunday, (during which the GIR Track Records for Top Fuel Harley-Davidson dragbikes were reset to 6.34/222.40!), construction began on the new finishline scoreboards which will make their debut at this weekend's NHRA event.

The SX Performance Street Car Shootout Series will resume on Tuesday, May 8th, (including the second Rankin Tech Drag Challenge), GIR's regular Slick Tire Test-N-Tune will return on Wednesday, May 9th, and the second Midnight Madness event of the season is scheduled for Friday, May 11th. GIR's NHRA Bracket Racing series will resume on Saturday, May 12th. Also, note that High School Eliminator will begin on Tuesday, May 29th.
