Hey guys, I just bought a 20' motorboat and would like to get it on the lake. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to launch from in Chicago or the northern suburbs. I'm pretty close to Evanston, but I just found out they want $500 for launching for the year. I just don't think I'm ready to pay that much when I'm starting so late in the season. Plus it might be nice to be a little bit closer to downtown when launching. Can anyone fill me in on where there are launches and what price they want for them? Thanks for the info.

 

Is it something you want to tow around and put in whenever you want, or is it something you want to put in for the year and keep in a slip until the end of the season?

 

there's waukegan on the northside, lake forest, etc etc. 20' isnt exactly a huge boat though to apy for a slip, i'm assuming it'll be trailered everywhere. there's plenty of harbors that are 20-25 PER launch around chicago. ALSO, hope you like perch fishing because we do a ton of it out of waukegan and lake forest

Do a google search for Burnham Harbor and Diversey Harbor in Chicago near downtown. Up north, you could check out Winthrop Harbor... Never launched there myself, only heard about them. Times I've gone out on the lake I've gone to either Whihala Beach (Whiting IN) or Lake St Beach (a little further east into Indiana) for my Jetski.
