Going to UTI, moving to IL.
Going to UTI, moving to IL.
Anybody have any advice in preparing to moving to Glendale Heights IL? I'll be going to UTI (Universal Tech Institute, not Urinary Tract Infection) the first of the year and staying there for about 1 and a half. Living in Michigan I already have a handle on the cold ect, I'm just curious if police there are a little more strict on noise, polution and so on. Just curious, any advice would be apreciated.
BTW, if any body in the Glendale Heights area needs a room mate...

congrats man on the move. I looked into UTI but it's just not the right time for me. that looks like a great school. I'm not from the western burbs, but I am from the northwestern burbs. I might suggest checking out the forums on www.mfba.org or www.fbodyowners.org - these sites have a lot more local Chicagoland users and you might find someone from out there that can help you out. also, it's got forums for Chicago area gatherings, outings, track events, car shows, etc. so you won't be bored without car stuff to do!
Good luck!

Hey, thanks on those sites. Should help in getting settled into Chicago anyway. Anybody know if there are any little nit-pick things the cops like to get on? I won't be changing my place of residence so I"ll be running MI plates, am I going to get alot of crap from the PD about this? Anyway, I'll check out those sites and see if anything turns up.
You have to have a Highschool diploma and basic skills. There is a interview process and if you have any kind of criminal record your screwed. The guy I talked with said even someone with a juvinal record would have a hard time getting in.
I don't even think they need that much from you, from what I could tell they just want to make sure your personable and can speak in understandable english. Origionally he said I might have to take a test to proove basic math and comprehension stuff, but having 3 years of College in may have been a factor in not having to take the test. This guy that helped me get in was named Jeff, he got me the info I needed and I went out there twice. On the second trip I was accepted and now I'm just preparring.
