exhaust shop central il

So does anybody know of a good exhaust shop in either champaign/urbana or bloomington/normal area that could help me with my td exhaust instal. I think i need a few pipes bent and welded to tuck it up under. And I can always say its a track only car, and throw it on the traliler and bring it to them if they have any problems because it dosent have cats. Thanks.

Red's exhaust will help you out...they are in Urbana and are fairly cheap and quick. I have had them take off my cat and weld in a cutout so they have no problems doing that. Here's where they are at:

The shop looks small and kinda dirty/messy but their work is top notch. They also do a lot of work on demo cars so fabricating up something is what they do.
Best of luck to you.

Actually I know where they are at. I used to work alot at the hospital down the street. I guess I forgot about that place. I just wonder if they can bend 3in pipes.

Mid State Transmission in Normal is also a good choice, although not sure how they feel about the no cat situation.

Do you guys have emissions down there in central, southern IL? There are plenty of shops up here north that will do exhaust work on cars without cats, just have to call around.

I think that we are supposed to obey all the emissions laws, even though they dont do testing. Plus my car is a 95 and obd1 so it is supposed to be exempt from testing anyway. I havent heard of anybody around here that has got a ticket for not having cats. I just read an article in gm high tech performance about state laws that deal with exhaust and nitrous use, and they said that we (in illinois) are pretty much screwed when it comes to exhaust. They said that any exhaust system that is modified to make it louder than stock is illegal. I dont care though and neither do the local law enforcement officers unless it is rediculously loud or something. The only time I have been hassled about it was when my exhaust rotted out on my truck and I only got a written warning. I only had one flowmaster directly after the y pipe and it had holes in front of it. And btw the only laws on nitrous is that if you have posession with the intent to inhale it is a fellony. So we should be safe to have it in our cars.

I'm in a denser part of Illinois being up north. I don't have any trouble with cops with my exhaust noise. If they should bother anybody, it should be the guys with the coffee can mufflers or the loud motorcycles.
