Yet another spark plug question :D
Yet another spark plug question :D
I was wondering about the spark plug gap. Some plugs come pregapped and some don't.
What does an incorrect gap distance do to the car? Why is it important for the gap to be as close to it's correct size as possible?
Please no haters in here, we all need to learn sometime.
Someone help me out with this. Thanks
The reason I am asking is because my car, now, is running a little bumpier than it did before it started misfiring.
I bought BorgWarner spark plug wires and autolite plugs, but this shouldnt have anything to do with it, should it?
I am more concerned with the gap.

Re: Yet another spark plug question :D
If the gap is too small the spark can be shrowded.
If its to large the spark may not jump the gap.
Either way you can get incomplete combustion.
The vehicle engineers put a lot of research into this to meet emissions and fuel economy.
BTW spark plug gap on a 3800 is 60/1000 or 0.060
