Yes, you would see a performance boost from the larger I-pipe.

However, I'm not a big fan of how they sound. Others may disagree, but for me they just sound wimpy.

If you are getting it cheap, keep the I-pipe and hook up a new muffler.

wtf? flowmasters sound alright

anything will sound raspy >3k rpm on a v6... but to say flowmaster sounds ricey is foolish....

get a larger i-pipe, use ur flowmaster muffler, and be done with it.

If you don't have an intake, get one.

It helps the exhaust tone A LOT.

I've heard the same year, same engine, same exhaust as my car WITHOUT an intake and doesn't sound as good.

what am i on about? i own a 97, with the flowmaster american thunder 3" catback, high flow cat, and intake, and it sounds pretty good (for a v6), 90% of ppl think its a v8 (saying that 88% of ppl know nothing about cars.. so take that with a grain of salt)
so, i know what i'm on about... and yes, an intake helps a lot, hi flow cat helps a bit, but getting a new I-pipe is a must

i'm sorry that your car sounded like crap, in your opinion (i didnt listen to the posted clips), but take our advise.... do the whole exhaust, and you need an intake (makes it deeper)
