Good to know. A guy at a shop said that it would work. I don't think that he realized that it was a five speed though. I was surprised that it would work.

all T5s in GM cars/trucks after '87 are World Class "heavy duty". our V6 T5s are the same units as in the stangs and third gen 5.0L cars. they can handle anything up to ~280lb-ft and 260hp, but the LS/LT are just too much for them.

not sure i agree with that, the cobras seem to have the same trans. And the TKO is a different trans. It can handle a lot more than 280 ft lbs and 260 hp.

i think those are very limited and may even be Ford specific transmissions that you can be sure cost a good buck to make. the "regular" world class trannies are all the same. from an S10 all the way up to a Mustang GT.

There was never a widely mass produced T5 put on a 350 cu in v8... they were all autos, or 4-speeds, 4+3s, or 6-speeds they cannot handle the power.

Instead fo finding some rare version that costs alot of money and you will still have to custom adapt it why not jsut put a T-56, proven strong tranny in?

T56's go for 3x as much as a newer V6 Camaro 5-speed. I'm not asking about adapting it, I'm asking if it will bolt up or not.
