Will a bigger i-pipe make my exhaust louder?
My friend is getting a corsa catback put on his 98 T/A soon so I was thinkin about putting his old one on my car. My exhaust is pretty loud now with just the flowmaster muffler, almost too loud. Will a stock 2.75in I-pipe make my car even louder or will it just change the tone?
It will get deeper and louder. I've heard my buddy's car before and after a bigger I-pipe...much better with it.
You'll notice the car to pull harder in the higher RPMs...you may or may not feel some power loss down low. You actually aren't losing any power, you just move the range higher up.

It will be a lot louder and cleaner, virtually eliminate rice sounds unless you rev past 4000, and and good power gain throughout the RPM band. I would say 30% down low, 60% mid, 10% high. Pulls good to 5K now. Did I methion it is deep? If you sit idling in your driveway it will vibrate the windows! Also noticed a 2 MPG gain.
PS. I went from 2.25 Flowmaster 80 to
2.75 I-pipe to 80 series to 3" tailpipes(not tips)
