Where to buy Flowmaster catback #17356

I have decided to put my tax return to good use...

I want to purchase the Flowmaster American Thunder system for my 1994 3.4 Camaro. I know the part number is 17356, but I can't find it anywhere. Summit use to have it, and I think Jeg's did. But, it's not even listed on Flowmaster's site ?!?

Where can I find it?

Also, what is the part number for the Catco cat that I would want to go with this?

Thanks,
Matt

you can ket the flowmaster american thunder either directly from flowmaster, or from jeggs or summit. Personally i would skip the flowmaster, cause their aluminized and dont hold up over time, in addition to being engeneered for sound and not flow. Plus i have not been satisfied with the sound of the 80 series american thunder on any 6 cyl yet. I have the WS6 takeoff and am very pleased with the sound of it.

OK, here's what I've found out so far about the new Flowmaster catbacks:

Part #17356 93-95 3.4L Camaro/Firebird
Part #17357 95-97 3.8L Camaro/Firebird
Part #17358 98-03 3.8L Camaro/Firebird

I didn't do any $$ research on the #17357 or #17358 kits since I don't have a 3.8L.

For the #17356 3.4L catback, here's what I've found so far:

From Flowmaster $390 + Shipping
From Local Custom Shop $375 + Shipping
From Jegs $319 + Shipping
From Summit $264.64 (free shipping to my state)!!!!

Soon as tax returns come in, I'm giving Summit a call.

From the pictures I've seen, the 3.4L kit doesn't have a resonator, and it is a totally different muffler than the 80 series that the V8's use.
Supposedly, these catbacks were designed specifically for our V6's. That's what the guy at Flowmaster told me anyway....

When you called Summit did they happen to say if they had it in stock? Because I know it was listed on their website, but last time I check it was gone...

Once you get one TopHatJimmy, holla back and let me know what you think of it. I will do the same if I ever get around to buying one.

BTW: I noticed that you sig says "sound system in progress," what are you putting in?

Well, I went back to Summit and tried again a few minutes ago...

If you list the parts in the online catalog, it doesn't show up, but if you search by part number "FLO-17356" (you have to put the FLO in there, or it won't show up) it will show up as backordered. I clicked on the add to cart link and it says that there is currently 1 backordered. It says the tentative ship date is March 1, 2003.

Also, I just wanted to make sure that this Cat would work out...

Later,

**UPDATE**
As of today (2/14/03) the tentative ship date is March 13, 2003.
