When do 3.4's die?

i have 95k miles on my 95 now anyway, its starting to smoke a bit on startup occasionally, its done this off and on for the past 10k miles, but yesterday it was really noticable. just curious, how long do these things last? i've seen 130k being the furthest i've seen on the board...or somewhere in the range.

how much time does she have left?

Thumbs up

106,000 as of this week and still runs hardcore! I got a little smoke like your talking about, around the same mileage time as you. I switched to a high mileage oil and that seemed to help. The thing I’m worried about is my transmission. Its ganna need to be rebuilt soon.

Jeez I think I gotta give up this name 3rd time this week having to explain it.

I had an 85 camaro in highschool

2 friend of mine had foxbody 5.0s, that used to waste me.

One of my first screenames online was MustangEater, I kept it jsut to keep pissing them off. Jsut stuck, I think I have had it since 99, thats coming up on 4 years of having it jsut haven't really thoguht of changing it.

by the way my car has taken a beating and the motor still runs strong, well strong for a 3.4L.

All I have ever done is adjsut the rockers, and replace a coolant sensor, are the only things I really every touched that touches the main block of the motor.

Well if oyu do not count the flyeheel, tranny, 4 clutches, driveshaft and rear end I have ahd to repalce do to my driving habits.

Ahh ignore TA2play, he's just bitter because his last car was a 95' 5.0. I finally got him to wise up and buy a TA. And John my car is too hardcore!

I am worried about my trans as well. Nothing bad has happened to it, and I can't detect any problems as of yet, but since my mom has a 96 Grand Voyager on its 3rd trans with 75K, I am weary.

BTW, I have 95,500.
