Question What year did the V6's start coming standard w/ AC?

My ex has an 02 V6 Camaro, base as it could possibly come (not even a rear defogger), yet had A/C.

The reason I ask: I need to get around to pulling the A/C on my Formula. While I'm at it, I figured I might as well switch to a non-A/C heater switch panel, since the car will no longer have A/C.

The problem: A/C was standard in the V8 cars starting in either 96 or 97. And I want a 97+ unit that has the lighted ***** vs. the 93-96 unit w/ out the lighted ***** (which would be cake to find). So a 97+ unit from a non-A/C V6 Firebird may be my only hope.

I'm trying to get an idea of what years I can look for that have a possibility of not having A/C (but having a rear defogger button, this might be kinda hard to find).

Why would you want to switch to a non-AC heater panel? What difference will that make? I took my AC out and the panel still works just fine.

Why not switch? I won't have A/C, so why have a switch panel for A/C? Plus, I'd like to have the 97+ style with the lighted *****.

But I need to know what years are available. I'd rather get it from a private owner parting a car or local type junk yard that doesn't specialize in F-body's, otherwise I'm sure I'd get rapped on the deal. But that's why I want to know what years I can look at for this. 97 to ??, unless the V6's got A/C standard the same time the V8's did.

My 96 is lighted too. I don't think at 97+ would fit in a 93-96.

I thought all 4th gens come with AC?

Either way I think its the only option my car has.

I don't have foglamps, rear hatch popper, rear defrost, power locks, pwoer windows, cruise control.

i had steel rims wiht hubcaps originally
