3.8? One of the members here did it with just free mods and a 5spd. Do a search for it.

Pulling the CAt on a 3.8L will screw up the 02s and throw a code, but o a 3.4L you can pull the cat...

If you don't have a lid, get a lid for your car,K&N filter and get rid of the air silencer(big box looking thing behind the lid) and descreen your MAF...

That might cost you less then $120, for the different parts, and that should put you in the 14s...

toqruq convertor if its an auto.. will take .3-.5 off yoru time.. good mod..

im hoping to put my 97 3.8 into the 14's with the following

SLP CAI
Pacesetter Headers
Stage 3 P&P Heads by matt at Force Fed
P&P Upper and Lower Intake Manidfolds by matt at Force Fed
Ported TB
Zexel Torsen LSD

with the deal im getting from matt should be able to do it for under about 1400

if that doesnt get me there a transgo shift kit and a 2400 stall tq converter will go in.. should def get me there..

Yeah, if a cam job was only $130 more people would do it.

Easiest way...put her on the bottle.

I've never liked homemade CAIs...but I've never been one to skimp on stuff so...

If you buy a cam/lifter kit that doesnt exceed the limitations of the stock springs and other components, and you can do all the labor urself, what other costs are there???

I'm curious, isn't pulling the CAT off illegal? and are CutOuts illegal aswell? I'm in the state of Georgia if it matters.

Would a Homemade CAI produce just as much power as aftermarket brands like SLP's?

its only illagal if they sniff your car. In Georgia im not sure though. I Live in OK, and we run around with them off all teh time.

The homemaid CAI...I personally dont care for them, no reason why, i spent the money and got a K&N cai. Im not sure on the difference in power but i would imagine that an aftermarket will do better then a homemaid.

THe cutouts are loud and annoying when they open up on your car. Im sure if there is a cop around then they will most likly stop and, then u might get in trouble as well having your cat off. But on the track, no its not, isnt that what your wanting anyweay. YOur not goin to have them open all the time are you? If your going to do that lol just take the whole exhuast system off.
