this is what im getting

i am getting a flow master exhaust system and some headers and a cold air intake and a racing chip that adds 20 hp. Wut else would be the next step in improving my cars preformance and horse power? I was thinking about a shift kit? should i get one. And how much horse would i have after this weekend with my 3.4 L 94 v6 camaro? right now stock is 160hp. thanks for any advice and info!

i would be a little leary of that 20 hp "racing chip" first of all i dont know bout the 3.4L cars but LT1s after 93 couldnt have any "chip" replaced. the chip was permanantly soldered into the ECM and adjustments have to be made by plugging in and actually retuning the computer. second of all, with 160 hp, adding 20 through electronics is a tall order. i dont know how this "racing chip" works but i will guess you will probably have around 190 hp with all the mods.

10---ECM adjustment
10---headers
5--- catback
5--- cold air kit.

just my 2 cents. good luck.

EDIT: get urself a mild shift kit and a higher stall torque converter. that will more than liekly make a significant difference in your car's performance ability.

you want to beat him???? NITROUS. as i said in ur other thread. i think 50-75 hp should be enough to put him in your rearview.

Thumbs down

Lets review...

A week ago you posted that you wanted to improve your 3.4L...you had a couple days and $280 but didn't know which route to take with your stock car.

Now you want to add an intake, headers, and exhaust. You continue to ask which part is the "best" or which part to buy. You want a shift kit yet ask if you should get it. And a racing chip that adds 20 HP? Put your step brother's Import Tuner down and walk away.

And for sh*ts sake...stop posting a new topic for every thought that pops into your head. I know I'll get some sh*t for coming down on you but I don't give a f*ck since it's annoying to see this. You want the best resource available? The SEARCH button...you'll find so much info there on the SAME EXACT questions because they have been asked 1,000,000 times before.

Learn about the basics so you can plan intellegently not just "Hey I think I'll add X part and Y part yet don't know squat about it".

Just for sh*ts and giggles...let me guess your age: 16-20.

Not knowing is fine...we all had to start somewhere.

What I'm saying is that your questions have all been answered before many many MANY times.

SEARCH for your answers, if you can't find them then post it here. You'll more than likely find your answer and learn at the same time.

I'm not giving you negative advice, I'm actually helping you out. Negative advice is letting someone believe they'll gain 20 HP from a chip.

If anyone needs to chill, it's YOU with the "New Thread" button. Three topics within seven minutes? I know for sure the turbo has been asked before, go ask Tiago...he is the turbo guy you want to talk to. The topic about the hood belongs in the appearance forum. And this one could have just been added to your "Help me beat my brother" topic.

Long story short: The search button is there to help you and it is an invaluable resource. Think your question is unique...odds are it isn't and its been answered. And don't discount "ricers"...they know just as much about cars as us. Your step-brother could help you out as well despite the fact that you want to beat him.

Import mags tell of magic bullets, the best part you need, and magic numbers.
I read them a lot because there a lot of them, only the tech type suff. I try to dig through all the BS and thers a lot and steel any ideas that realy are new.
Most of there new ideas are old stuff that they think is new.
I like it when they compair Big Block chevys to 4 banger hondas, that's when you know they have no clue what so ever.
If you want a lot of n/a power get a mechanical cam.
You can have a lot of fun moding V6's.
You can learn a lot unlike the ricers that don't touch there cars and pay some one to do there more indepth mods for them.
A lot of hondas can beat our cars in the short term with a few mods, If you do the same to our cars then they realy start to move.
After a while they plug more and more mods on to there car and it gets to a point and it doesn't get any faster untill they eather increase the displacement or add a power adder.
Honda people say there engines are better than ours becasue of there 100hp pre L crap. They think it's so cool, but it's there biggest draw back by far.
