something flew out of the casing of my clutch.... see pictures. However what is really strange is that the car is still running perfectly fine? what could have possibly flown out?

 

I wonder if it threw a bolt off the pressure plate. If whatever it threw is big enough, it may be laying in the bottom of the bellhousing. Take off the inspection plate and see if you find any parts.

 

could it be that something tried to break into it? Like you ran over something?


either way sucks, I had a spare 5-speed bellhousing like 2 weeks ago I threw out.

 

PS you are also missing the side support bracket.

 

I believe you may be right, I walked over to where I felt/heard a clunking noise while driving and found a bolt lying there.

 

Something definitely broke out, because the impact goes outward. I already took it to the shop because I dont have the expertise or tools to do this work where I am (school). I am going to get the clutch replaced while they are at it too.
