i need some front pads and looking for suggestions on which to get. they dont need to squeak or leave brake dust. i definately dont want rabestos. the pads that are on their are good but i dont know what they are. i dont need anything high performance so what are you guys using?

i don't know if there is a big difference between all the replacement pads that you could get at a parts store, but I just put a set of Hawks on the front on mine. i think they are a big improvement over the stock pads i had. no noticable dust and hardly ever a squeek.

got mine for about 80 or 90 off thunderracing.com about a month ago. others seem to like them too.

I have hawks on all 4 corners, they are great, they ahve dust but very very very little, hardly a problem I used to have, my fornt rims would look black pwdercoated a week after I cleaned them with generic pads.

I also hear EBC green stuff are pretty good at not being dusty, haven't heard much abotu there performance qualities.

I went with performance friction carbon metallic pads because they are a cross between street and track pads. you can break hard with these and they don't glaze over and they also grip well when you first start breaking unlike track pads that need a little heat to build up before they start to stop you.

are the carbon metallics from autozone any good? they cost like $36. i plan on just slappin on the pads and letting the rotors go, is that a bad idea?

they don't leave a lot of dust and sound like stock pads, no complaints here

ok so i ended up with raybestos cermaics for $85 from pep boys but im taking them back. so i took the wheel off and got into everything to discover that my pads had like 40k miles left to go on them. they pads have plenty of life left but what the hell is the problem??? all of a sudden they started squeeking really bad and when im braking and almost stopped the sound i hear sounds like metal grinding!?!??!? when i jack the car up and turn the wheel it is kinda tough to turn and makes the noise? what the hell is the problem?
