Well I am needing info on what Chip to install...if I can even get one...

Ok, I have a 95 3.4...I am looking to remove the speed limiter, and tune the motor to gain as much HP as possible. I don't car if it is a plug in chip or if I have to send my computer off somewhere to have them do it...Can I get any links or any tips from you guys as to what I shoud/need to do?

Thank you.

fast chips makes a chip for our computer, but as far as sending it out to get turned I really don't know if that possible, but I could be wrong about that. You could always call the guys as Texas Speed And Performance and see what they can do. But unless you have something really extream like a turbo or cam installed having it tuned really won't do you much good. And as far as I know the 3.4 does have a speed govner. I had my 94 3.4 well past what is says on the speedo and was still pulling, but you have a 95 so the pcms might be slightly different from those two years.

I don't see the point of removing the speed limiter, but I guess you could remove it and do a couple things with a hypertech programer and you might see 120 or so. I don't know... It's been a long time, but I had my 6 upto 105 but its a manual with 3.23's.... It still had a fair amount of room to run but I don't care to wreck my car.

I believe the governer is set at 112-113.

There are no chips for the 3.4 computer. It must be flash tuned. According to fastchip.com, the 3.4L tune usually gets around 15-16 RWHP.

Fill this out in accordance with your mods

http://www.fastchip.com/order.txt

And add anything else you can that they can tune for maximum HP gain (IE: measure your air/fuel ratio and give them that info so they can change your air and fuel timing for more power).

I would be getting that tune right now, but I can't yet afford it ($300). I could....but then I would have no money left and I don't want that. Although, there is a possibility that my local dyno/tuning shop can flash tune it with the proper engine spec info, which I have, but I doubt it. Your only option would be http://www.fastchip.com/ .

Good luck.

www.texas-speed.com

They do mail tunes. I'm not sure if they do 3.4 but I think they do.

Someone can e-mail them to find out, but I doubt it.

great, thanks guys for the help...my 95 3.4'g gov. hits at about 108mph...and I hate that. I live out in the middle of nowhere and...well...I hit 108 in 4th gear, so I know my car will do way more...

so fastchip.com is the best place and I can expect 15 more RWP?...anyone else verify this?

That's their claim. not mine.

And I did find a chip for our cars:
http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...f163c544d688e3

But it's a waste, get a custom tune. When I get the tune, I will be sure to get it dynoed before and after to see the difference. I'm tired of their not being enough aftermarket information for the 3.4, so I shall provide some.

I sincerely doubt you'd get much more than 5 hp's out of any chip on a stock 3.4L. The point of those burns is really to "optimize" a good handful of mods (i.e. more than an air filter and muffler...) to an engine.

An engine is only as good as its biggest weakpoint. That would be the intake manifold and heads on the iron 3.4L. I could see a burn helping more after that work is done, but until then....
