I looked at the suspension and it all looks to be intact!...but when I drive I can sorta feel the rear end of the car kinda sway back and forth...what would cause that?..sometimes its hard to keep a straight line while driving.

anyone know what I should lookk into?


its a 97 RS if that helps with 109000 on the ticker.

tires are good/balanced and holding 35psi...bushings seem to be ok

 

check the panhard rod? I dunno...

 

replaced the shocks lately? might just be worn out rear shocks.. I know mine used to feel like it would float around in the rear and the rear shocks were pretty much done.

 

I checked the panhard bar and it looks to be intact...I also thought it may be the shocks in the rear but wouldnt they cause the rear to bounce up and down real bad if the shocks were worn? its doesnt do that...

 

If the rear shocks are gone when you go over speedbumps etc it will feel very rough and prolly sound like your car is falling apart.

well I found out what it was when I almost wrecked going on the off ramp on the interstate...I took it to Firestone where they have always taken care of my IROC alignment and asked the guy to drive it for me and tell me what it could be............he drove it and did the same thing.....

put it up on the rack and checked to see if the frame was bent of anything looked out or wack...looked good....then checked the thrust angle and tracking and alignment and found the front tires to be towed in a 1/2 degree in on both....fixed that and only charged me $50....I then left and drove the car and it feels ....100%...better!....

he told told me dont even compare it to my IROC cause they are totally different as far as front suspension...my ROC drives tight as hell and doesnt sway at all!....

so im happy!

BTW, what do you mean by "BLOWN MOTOR" do you mean its blown or do you mean somethings wrong with
the internals? If its the internals, whats wrong with the internals or do you not know?

 

I was told it threw a bearing..or something...alls I know it knocks big time! and loses compression.....almost didnt make it home...Im gonna sell everything that is still good...do a search on thirdgen and you can see my motor.....

 

losses compression might be a bad head gasket or bad piston rings...
wait, you said it LOSSES so that could be a valve.
