water leaking from timing cover 95 3.4
Could be bad waterpump gaskets also, timing cover seal could be compromised. Any sign of water in your oil? Not hard to change out. Remove tensioner, powersteering pump/bracket--- set it off to the side, you dont have to disconnect the lines, and you should be able to get at the whole water pump. You can raise the front of the car and have a look at the bottom of the pump to check the weep hole. If its been leaking but is currently dry, you will see some discoloration. If you dont see anything out of place, and its dirty, etc, Get some carb or brake cleaner and clean it up real good. Top off your coolant, start it and watch for your leak or if its a slow leak, drive it some or let it run and get to operating temp and then check it. You can hose down the timing cover with brake cleaner too and clean it all up where you can check it out. Do not spray the cleaner if the motor is hot, and let it dry for about 20-30 minutes before you run it so you dont have any problems.
Also -- Worst case, could be a bad intake gasket running down the front or themostat housing, coolant lines at the bottom of the throttle body, or small chance your temp sender under the throttle body is broken. That sensor is for the computer. Temp sender for your dash gauge is on the driver side head towards the front.
