Cruising along....you punch it.....it downshifts...at it just starts to lay-down......and then takes off.

Its just that there is this ever so slight....ehhh....deadspot for a split second.

Any ideas, before I start tinkering with it????

Is it something that you just now started to notice thats getting progressively worse ? Just wondering since the same thing happens to mine... has been every since I bought the car. There's that brief second or so after it goes down a gear before it picks up. I think the most noticeable for me is from 3rd to 2nd.

I feel the same hesitation in my friends '94 Z A4

Maybe its time to throw a shift kit in there? I bought the TransGo a few months back and its just been sitting in the garage.... the combination of pulling the valve body and all the springs in those bags scare me I have the tranny from a '96 T/A sitting in my building that I may tinker around with and attempt to install in there. If everything goes right I may play w/ the one in right now. 100 bucks or less isn't bad at all for it.

It was probably in torque converter lock-up in 3rd. I've noticed also that at WOT in will be in 3rd @ 85MPH running 4500 RPM, then it goes to TC lockup, RPMS drop to 4200, and I get a boost of power. It feels kinda weird. It just sorta "takes off" and I watch the needle move 90, 95, 100, 105, !
