Re: Want to convert

Heh, if you really have a 3.8L, it better be a 95 or later, otherwise I wonder if most can make a 3.4 to 3.8L swap run right....being that a 3.8L is OBD2 complaint and most all 3.4L's are not, though there may be exceptions.

The 3.4L has a U(ish)-shaped intake plenum. Are you sure your car doesn't have that?

swaping v8 will run you about the same or more than a z28 some guys have done it for less. you need anding wiring, tranny, rearend, and a lot more other components

Re: Want to convert

Considering the cost involved in doing an LT1 swap, and the cost of a LT1 equipped car (can be found for 3500 or below), it would be easier just to buy another car. Not trying to dash your dreams though, there are always people selling LT1 drivetrains in good condition for around 1500 or below and you can get the other parts needed for the swap used for decent prices. It kinda boils down to how much time and money you have on your hands. In the meantime, just enjoy your car.

Re: Want to convert

if it says 3.8L when you pop the hood then I think you're lying.
it should say: 3800 Series II

Re: Want to convert

I Think You Should Swap The Motor. If It Isnt Your Daily Driver What Do You Got To Lose. If You Likr The Car Do. Its All That Much Better Knowing Everytime You Turn The Key And Feel The Power Youl Know You Did It. Even If You Have Someone Else Do It. Everyone Who Does A Mod Knows That When They Drive There Car Your Like Yeah I Did That Mod My Self. Just Think When You Did Your Catback And Started Y IT Everyone Remembers This is great listen to that, RIGHT. Anyway If You Get The Right Deal You Cant Go Wrong.

Re: Want to convert

i think this is bad advice from rouda. this takes some skill and work. just to let you know whats invloved in this swap, you will need an lt1 engine v8 tranny, and rearend, drive shaft, need a new rad and fans, wiring harness, new springs, new cooling lines, k-member, gage cluster and much more if you feel comfterble removing the whole drive train and puting in a new one then go for it, and you can go wrong on this becuase you could invest a lot of money and not be able to finish and have to sell a half completed car wich is never easy to sell. im not saying this is something that you cant do im just saying you really need to understand what is involved and the costs

Basically, its not like the old days where you could swap a 350 into anything and only need a weekend and a pair of different motor mounts.

Re: Want to convert

If it was a LS1 go to a junk yard and find a Camaro that just have side or rear end damage; than take the parts from off there on. For an LT1 just buy a new Camaro; you can find a good prices on LT1 Camaro's.
