1997 v6 w/44k on it. This is the first problem that Ive had with the car. Two days ago I had a problem with my car, It started to Vibrate and stutter and then I got the Service Engine light come on. Under moderate to light acceleration the car drives fine most of the time until about 60mph then I get the hesitation and sometimes the Service light will begin to flash. Once Im at a stable speed like 40mph the car drives fine. Any light acceleration and the car will seem to be normal but if I accelerate too fast it will act up?? The car turns on fine and still drives. Does anybody have a clue as to what is going on??

 

Do you have a aftermarket cold air intake?
If you do,the problem could be a dirty maf sensor
I had similar symptoms and that was found to be the problem.
One of my K&N filters had actually fallen off inside the little compartment(SLP cold air) and the maf sensor had gotten pretty
dirty before it was discovered.

 

you are probably right it does have a K&N intake and before all this happened for about 2 weeks there was a rattling noise near or in the intake...Ill have to check it out. Thanks
