V8 power in V6...Possible???...

I'm curious, what would it take, IF its possible, to gain LS1, or atleast LT1 power on a 3.8 V6??... Is this even imaginable WITHOUT the use of NOS? and what would probably be cheaper, modding a V6 to hang with out big V8 brothers, or just get out there and buy an V8, or perhaps dropping an even larger V8 than a 350 in a V6?...

All ideas and oppinions welcomed!!!

Thanks all

i would say you would be better off all around just going and getting one with a v8 in it and cheaper. but if not supercharger always works.

Tryin to avoid the V8 insurance, I can literally swap 4 LS1's with the annual estimate of a V8 under my name...

What kind of supercharger? If I were to keep my V6 in the car what kind of other things would I need to mod to not only obtain but handle 270 + HP, if thats obtainable for a 3.8...

Is it even possibaly cheaper to drop a V8 into a V6 Body instead of going all out in mods?

Thanks for all oppinions

theres a turbo kit out and a GP coming up on it.

they got a 3.4 up to almost 400 HP at the rear wheels with stock bottom end, that would give stock vette run for da money

That would be hard to get 270 n/a, you would have to get a killer P&P job a mechanical roller cam and the right intake.
It would be easier to do with a turbo or super charger, you would still need cam, P&P, new pistons and more.

That would give a vette alot more than a run for "da money"

Sue me but whats a GP?
and whats a P&P Job?
What kind of intake would I need? any aftermarket brand, would I need a bigger throttle body?

3.4 with 400 HP?!

I presume a 3.8 can be made that fast?

GP = group pruchase, this let the maker buy in bulk and give the product at a reduced price,

P/P = port and polish, port well ports it bigger hole more flow, polish make it smooth so the air flows less resrichted,

no you dont have to have a biger TB but you will make more HP with it,

BTW the kit is made for stock motor, you dont have to modify it, but the more you do the more power

force fed is the only turbo kit out there now. a lot of people have fab'ed up their own kits. theres a fewpeople on camarov6.com with custom kits with info on their sites to help you, but tiagos (forcefedfab) kit would probably be cheaper than trying to develop your own. you could get into the 280 HP range na with bolt-ons like intake, headers, exhaust, cam, roller rockers and a P&P job and tune. thats basically my list as of this coming Spring. Ill dyno then and post what Im at.

There is one guy here who is claiming 250 HP without the use of nitrous...ask him.

IMO trying to get V8 power out of a 3.8 WITHOUT the use of nitrous is not worthwhile. For me, at least, it isn't. My car is modded, but not for the sake of trying to play catch up with a Z.

Well..somewhat V8 power. We're only 15 short of the older Mustang GTs...stock.
