V6/LS1 Conversion

Does anyone have any information on putting an ls1 into a v6 Camaro, such as wiring harnesses, suspension, etc.?

The information I have is that it's more cost-effective to sell your V6 and buy a Z28.

So, unless you found yourself a free LS1 crate engine, or unless the experience itself is worth thousands of dollars to you, just head on over to the Cars for Sale section.

Check out the v6 forum, there is a sticky there that has this covered. You should post this topic there as well as that is where it is most asked. Depending how much you can get an LS1 powertrain for, it would be a feasible swap compared to just buying an LS1 powered f-body.

I think it would be cheaper to do the swap cause your insurance would think you still owned a v6 and there is a big difference in the price of a v6 and a z on insurance.

I talked to my insurance agent about doing an LS1/2 swap versus just buying a Z; and he said the swap would be cheaper in the long run do to the increased insurance cost.

I would of never told them anything that way they would just think its the same v6 car but it would still be cheaper in the long run anyways but best of luck to you
