Used Injectors.. Tips?
Used Injectors.. Tips?
I just bought a set of 19lb injectors from a guy. They should be here any day now.
I was looking for advice before installing, such as new o-rings, cleaning, anything that'll make my life easier when I go to install 'em.
Thanks alot.

Re: Used Injectors.. Tips?
eeeeee I would stay away from used injector just my personal opinion. But if you got them go ahead and use them. Get new o-rings for both side of the injectors, where it clips into the fuel rail and where it goes into the intake manifold. The hardest part will be getting to fuel rail in and out of the manifold. Just take your time and be gentle and it should come out with a lil elbow grase. But as for the injectors I would deffinatly clean the tips before installing them. Get a can of stuff called x66-p or x66-b, I can't remember the name exactly, made by ac delco. It come in a tin can with the ac delco logo and colors on it. It should be a liquid just pour a lil bit of it into a cup and soak the tip of the injectors that go into the intake manifold and let them sit for a while. That stuff is super strong and will clean any carbon and what not off the tip of the injectors and make sure the fuel is being properly atomized. When you go to reinstall the injectors install the new o-rings and rub a lil bit of new motor oil or mineral oil around them to make the install easier and to insure a good nonleaking seal. Like usual man got any question just ask.
Re: Used Injectors.. Tips?
Hey, thanks for the input man. Had the manifold out a couple of times, so the fuel rail isn't really a concern for me, just the care and prep of the injectors. Can I get that x66-p stuff at my local Advance or Autozone?
Re: Used Injectors.. Tips?
that I don't know about your going to have to find an ac delco sales rep or center near you. I think if you go to the offical ac delco website I blieve you can look up local dealers in your area.
