Turbo or supercharger?

Ok, I I've 1997 camaro 3.8l v6. It is all stock and I'm looking to give it more power without swapping for a lt1 ( my parents won't let me get a v8 becaus I'm only 16).
1st- which would be better a turbo or supercharger?
2nd- what brand etc would be the best

-thanks

Honestly, swapping would probably be cheaper than strapping a turbo or supercharger on. It would probably almost be a waste of money if you are planning to pick up a V8 alittle later on, just put a nice exhaust on it, an intake system and call it a day. My advice would be to hold out for a v8. its worth it.

Ok. Well thanks for the advice, but I have looked for a intake for the 3.8l and they don't really make one unless I was to get the ss hood and use a ram air intake. And the exhaust, I have been told that it would sound whiney since it's a v6 unless I used like a glass pack muffler. Also, if I did get exhaust and intake, would I have to it all new when I swapped?

Also, I have found a supercharger and it adds anywhere from 20hp to 60 ho. For $200

I knew it was the same engine and stuff, but I didn't no about the configuration and I didn't no about hood clearance.

can you really do this?? I would think if it was this easy someone here or somewhere would be making kits for our cars, they could make a killing, or atleast could have 5 or 10 years ago. I would buy a set-up in a heartbeat if I could get it for under $500. It was really stupid of GM to not make a v6 SC from factory, they were already making them for Pontiacs anyway,, i guess they wanted everyone to buy the V8.

It would not be worth it to do a top swap into a Camaro. You need heads, intake (3800NA fuel injectors are in the intake and 3800SC are in the heads) fuel injectors and supercharger. The throttle body is pointing at the firewall and sits to high and hits the cowl. With all that you would be looking at 40-60hp.
If you can weld you could do a turbo for not to much money (about $2,000) and make 450-500hp on a 3800 with a good tune.

Turbo Charger

If that is what you really want to do, id go for a turbo charger, they are quite expensive though. they generally produce more power because they arent sapping power from the crank, instead they get it from the exhaust. But yes, really saving money to eventually do a V8 would be your best bet
